Welcome here, My name is F., a Birth and Postpartum Doula based in NYC, Kilomba Collective Co-Founder, and Imanis Mom. I am a psychologist in Brazil and decided to become a Doula after my own experience having a Baby, during the pandemic and having a Doula support. I was able to have an amazing natural birth at home that completely transformed Me. I want to support you in your own journey.
I embrace different backgrounds, beliefs, gender and specially support Immigrants and BIPOC. As a Birth and Postpartum Doula, I feel honored to be able to share my expertise with pregnant people and families around New York and New Jersey. I approach birth holistically and my role is also to act as an advocate for the birthing Person and their family. I offer support for the new family after birth.

F. was amazing at helping us nagivate the US medical system as we are from Brazil. She shared lots of information that was all new to us but made sure to not overwhelm us. I loved that she included my husband a lot- he felt really prepared and was totally involved during my birth. We did lots of exercises before birth plus I saw a PT she recommended. F. joined for some of the PT sessions so we felt really connected before the birth. F. is very present during labor- she helped me tremendously and kept me calm. Right after birth the staff got a bit agitated and I was nervous about what was going on. F. talked me through what was happening and why I needed some interventions. Due to her support I didn’t panic and trusted the medical team to manage everything which they did!
After birth F. came over a few times. My baby had a tongue tie (diagnosed at the hospital) so he didn’t latch. F. put me in touch with an amazing lactation consultant and together we decided next steps. I ended up pumping for 9 weeks until things got resolved and I was able to nurse. Having F. by my side was always very comforting- plus the fact that she speaks Portuguese was amazing, too. I highly recommend her!

F. helped me after birth with my first son. After he was born she helped us at night. We loved her so much that we hired her as a birth doula for our 2nd baby. She was so special, came to house a few times before birth, explained everything. Because F. was supporting me for my 2nd birth it was a total difference experience. She was with me early and helped me change positions a lot which was such a relief. Throughout the process she made me feel calm and more stable emotionally. Because of her support I had a wonderful postpartum time.
